When the Weight is Too Much

"Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken." – Psalm 55:22

Stress isn’t always bad. Like a chair designed to hold a specific amount of weight, we’re capable of handling certain responsibilities and challenges. But problems arise when we overload ourselves with more than we’re built to carry. A chair can hold its weight limit for years, but if you keep piling on more than it’s designed to hold, it will strain, crack, and eventually collapse.

Does that sound familiar? Maybe you feel like you’re straining under the weight of too many demands—work, family, finances, or even the expectations you place on yourself. God never intended for us to live this way. His Word calls us to cast our cares on Him because He promises to sustain us. You don’t have to carry it all.

Reflection Question: Are you carrying more weight than you were designed to? What can you release to God today?

Heavenly Father, I feel like I’m straining under the weight of my responsibilities. Help me release the things You never intended me to carry. Sustain me with Your strength and peace. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
