Scripture: "Not one word has failed of all the good promises which He promised." — 1 Kings 8:56 (NKJV)
At the end of his life, Joshua declared, “Not one word has failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spoke concerning you” (Joshua 23:14). Isn’t that a powerful testimony?
Think about Joshua’s journey: He waited decades to see God’s promises fulfilled. He wandered in the desert for 40 years because of the disobedience of others. Yet, through it all, he could confidently say, “Not one word has failed.”
God’s promises don’t operate on our timetable. Sometimes, we have to wait longer than we’d like. But His faithfulness never fails. He keeps His Word, even when we can’t see it happening in the moment.
There’s a story of a man on a cruise ship who didn’t realize his ticket included meals. He spent the whole trip hungry, eating crackers he brought with him, when he could have feasted at the buffet. Friend, don’t miss out on the promises of God because you don’t realize what’s available to you. Trust Him. His promises are sure.
Reflection Question: What promise of God are you waiting on, and how can you trust His timing during the wait?
Father, thank You for Your faithfulness. Help me to trust that not one word of Your promises will fail. Give me patience as I wait for You to fulfill Your Word in Your perfect timing. In Jesus’ name, amen.
