"Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him" (Matthew 2:2 NKJV)
The wise men traveled great distances and faced significant challenges to find Jesus, and when they found Him, they worshiped. It took them about three months to get from Persia to Bethlehem. This required great financial sacrifice, but they were searching.
These wise men were astrologers, studying the stars, but God was initiating this desire within them. They could have ignored the signs, but they were hungry to know this God that the star pointed to. God always speaks loud enough for a willing ear to hear.
Dr. Fazale Rana has a PhD in biochemistry and was raised by a Muslim father and a non-practicing Catholic mother. Through his scientific research, he realized creation required a Creator. When he got engaged, his fiancée had rededicated her life to Jesus, so he began attending church. The pastor told him, "You've allowed honest research to lead you to where you are. If you'll read the Bible with the same openness, it will lead you to Jesus."
Dr. Rana read through the Sermon on the Mount and was drawn to Christ, eventually surrendering his life to Jesus. Now he's CEO of Reasons to Believe, combining scientific research with faith.
God always speaks loud enough for a willing ear to hear.
Reflection Question: Do you remember what led you to faith in Jesus? How did God respond to your willingness to seek Him?
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for reaching out to me in Your love. Thank You for responding to my search for You. I pray for _____________ (someone you know who is lost). I pray that you draw them to Yourself. I pray they would respond to You. I pray that they would seek You. I love You, In Jesus' Name, amen.
